Angry GOT HEAT ... I DONt

I had my dash out and decided to go ahead and fix the heat. I had no head and or AC so.......
I started with the basics and endedup doing the logincon fix. The only thing that I could see that the logicon was doing was engaging the air mix motor. So i fixed that. No the AMM works fine. I have hot water flowing in and out of the heatcore unit. And all the little doors and the fans seem to work but still no heat. I noticed that the AMM connects to what looks to be a valve that allows hot watter though the radiator..... So is it possible that that valve is whats failing. I mean the controll arm for the valve works fine. I just cant get any heat....
what should i test next????????
TIA

I'm pretty sure that the water valve is the only thing that controls the coolant flow through the heater core. If you are getting coolant through the core, then the valve works. BTW, how do you know that you are getting coolant flowing through the heater core?

If you did not buy the car new, note that it is very common for racers to plug the heater hoses. One runs from below the oil filter to the fire wall, and the return line goes from the fire wall to the bottom of the radiator where the lower water pump hose attaches. Any plugs will be obvious.

How about the blower motor? Does air blow out of the vents when you move the lever from OFF to MAX? The blower motor on my 88 locked up at about 90K mi. All I had to do was clean it out, relubricate it, and it works fine to this day.

I don't mean to insult you with these basic checks, but I think that your heater should work based on everything that you have done, and sometimes it's the little things that get overlooked.

Oh good, I was just getting ready to look for my service manual.

Hehehe, sometimes things are easier to figure out after you have taken a break.

What kind of dash are you looking for?

Hey.. I just posted a thread and then started to read this... I'm not familiar with those fixes, this is my post....

I'm freezing, I need heat!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just wondering if anyone has any troubleshooting tips for fixing my heat in my 87' RX7. I took it over to a local shop that works on my car every once and a while and they were giving me the old, "Oh.. lotsa work here" and didn't seem like they wanted to help me. The one dude there figured it's the hot / cold selector not switching, but that seems odd to me. He said that the hold / cold selector is run by a small motor which opens and closes the door to allow hot air in... He thinks that the door is stuck in the cold position. My blower motor is brand new and is pumping cold air in with a very small trace of heat when my car is parked. The second I start moving the air through the front end turns that trace of heat into freezing cold air. The dude at the shop was sayin' that he'd have to take the dashboard out and the console to see if he could manually switch the door and check if the motor is working..I'll do the work if that's the case, but for some reason I don't think that if the door was jammed only letting cold air through, that I would feeel as little heat as I do. (you'd figure the heat would push it's way through a bit more then that.) But I dunno... Please help me as it's gonna be another very cold Canadian winter. Brrrrrrrrrr.....

But after reading this post I'm now wondering if it's this Air mix motor??? or Logicon???? PLEASE HELP ME!!! I'M FREEZING!!!!!
