Smile getting a 2nd Gen!! open to suggestions

hey guys,

i've been browsing the forums and reading a lot of posts and i've decided that i am going to start looking for a 7. i want to get a 2nd gen because i can't afford an fd and ill prolly settle for a nice n/a, as i think they are a bit simpler and cheaper too. the car will be used for daily driving (as much as possible) and a bit of fun, but nothing too drastic. i would greatly appreciate it if any of you could share some oppinions on what model, yr etc that would be a good first 7 to get.

thanks very much

if your out to cruise and enjoy the car id get a nice S5 Vert hook that up with some minor mods and youll have a blast with that car i was gonna buy a vert and do a TII conversion but just decided to go with a TII instead....

1989-1991 Series 5 N/A would be best for daily driving. My '89 is a daily driver and after 125,000miles it still runs as strong as when it was made. A vert and a TII although much cooler are higher maintnence and the N/A motors get better gas mileage and last much longer. But go 89-91 they are much nicer.

Turbo II - Torque Monster

NA - Love the NA engine's ultra-super throttle responce, it's how a rotary should feel

Convertible - Chassis feels more "planted" on the road, top down feel, one of the best convertibles ever made

GTU-S - NA racer, lightweight, heavy duty suspension & brakes

thanks for the input guys. is the S5 worth the extra $$, because generally they are a bit more expensive than the S4's (atleast in my area).

thanks again.

If the car has been owned by a woman, make sure the 5th & 6th ports work. And find out what kind of oil the shop put in it.

You might want to look at a water treatment for carbon.

Oh... the biggest problem with RX-7s - your bank account will never look the same again. Mine blew an engine, it would be significantly cheaper to replace it with a different car. So of course I'm rebuilding the engine, minor port job, Racing Beat exhaust, Pineapple sleeves, etc.
