getting a 2nd gen
My buddy is getting a 2nd gen after seeing a few and after going in a ride in my 85 gsl-se. Anyway I found a few at a local junkyard and there are 2 he wants 2 get...one for the parts car 88 I believe, only has 94K on the engine. 5th and 6th ports move freely and another 88 or 86 i dont remember for the driving, the body is in great condition but the engine had 150k or somthing like that. Both cars for 600 bucks... I was wondering what we should do besides the obvious change of all fluids before we start her up??? Any tips?? thx
personally I don't think a 300 dollar 7 is going to run to long or to great
remember this is a 13b not a 12a
we arn't COMPLETLY bulletproof like you guys
but yea I would change all the fluids
change the plugs/wires
replace the radiator hoses and flush the entire system

do a compression test on both the engines and see if they are even worth buying. If its low then your going to need to spend atleast another 1k (assuming you or him do it) on a rebuild. So your 600 just turned to 1600. Then by the time you get everything else done you just spent atleast 2000 on the cars(figured 400 for misc parts like hoses, clutch parts, oil, coolant, diff fluid, tranny fluid, sparkplugs, sparkplug wires ect). Thats before the parts get switched around and what not. and with 2k you can buy a running N/A. and use the other 600 for those 2 cars and just use them for parts cars.
