^Topic

If you pull it back up about 1cm it pops back up into place, but not strongly.

No leaks under the car and I was pulling caps off earlier checking fluid levels. It also hasen't been started in few days and it's been getting cold2warm2cold the past few days. I was moving between 3rd, 4th and N before it happened (Yeah, with the car parked...). Could the transmission be choking it? (I had the clutch in when I was moving them)

Need to get my battery replaced before it'll start (no hassle warrenty).

Either your slave cylinder has come off (...possible, but unlikely), you're out of fluid, or your clutch hydraulics are fubared (either the master or the slave).

TII FC. Forgot to mention that.

It's too dark now to check anything. I'll check tommorow.

Do I have to pull the dash or jack the car?

No. You should be able to see the slave from the engine bay. Master is by driver's shock tower, attached to firewall.

I just had this happen a few weeks back. Turned out to be the slave cylinder. I would replace both master, slave and the rubber line.

Slave cylinder, blown clutch line, or really screwed up pressure plate would be my initial guess.

Sounds like a bad master or slave cylinder.

if the slave is rusted you could push down and be like g this is hella hard to push down but you keep pushing harder and then you have the same problem as you said. the problem hear would be that you bent the bar that the clutch and brake pivot on

So I found a picture of the CMC and turns out that was definately one of the caps I pulled off.

Will starting the car and letting it run "reppressurize" the system?

When I had this happen, i rebuilt my clutch master and slave (cheap kit from any auto store) and bought the ss line from mazdatrix for like $10. 6months later, no leaking or dropped clutch to the floor.

I don't think the clutch system pressurizes. It's strictly mechanical & hydraulic. I think the problem is you most likely have lost a seal in on of the hydraulic cylinders and it's allowing fluid to pass by the piston inside. It could also cause it to stick a little. Rebuilding these cylinders is ok but, carefully inspect the interior walls of them. If excessive wear is present, rebuilding is a waste of time, just buy new ones.

I'm pulling them tonight.

From Mazdatriz: $20 for a SS hose and looks like I'll be paying $30/cylinder for rebuild kits or $60/cylinder for replacements ... plus shipping.

I'll pull them and inspect them tonight. I can probably get CMC and CSC rebuild kits at partsource and I don't mind shelling out $20 for a SS line.
