Delaying Pleasure is awesome, but painful, once it IS november though, not only will you be richer but you will be proud of yourself for your willpower to wait.

Depends on if the $1800 one is a real steal. The amount it costs means nothing. I've seen nice TII's for $2000 and only decent N/A's for $4000. It just depends...so is the $1800 one a great deal? If so, buy it and take the $2k later to fix it up even more.

You'll probably find a very poor car for $1800. I'd wait until you have the extra $2000, but then you can only buy a car worth $2800 because you'll need the extra $1000 to fix it up. These cars can be huge money pits, and I don't recommend them as your first (people will argue with that statement, but in general it's true).

Buy the car now, as long as interior/body is in good condition. It's not hard to do a turbo swap, you can get jdm TII engine(fan-to-flywheel, intercooler-to-oilpan) /tranny 40k miles, 500$ everywhere. Get a conv. ecu if you can't find a TII one. Wiring harness, TII starter, etc. It's not as hard as you think to drop a turbo up in there

i bought my 88 GXL for $1200, and the paint and body was SUPERB! but it did have a few engine problems... but either way you should get a n/a, and if you can find a good deal just get it now, and then if your mom gives you the 2k in nov. thats enough to fix anything thats wrong and upgrade.
