Advice

I'd wait and get that 2 grand added to get a even better seven. It's well worth the wait if you can wait.

fc3sdrifting 04-11-04 08:41 PM

engine rebuild kits are right around $2000 arnt they? get it now and take the $2000 in november to fix it up

3RotorRocket 04-11-04 08:55 PM

Well will you still get the 2 grand later if you buy it now?

rx-7s rock 04-11-04 10:51 PM

I wait. As long as you have some friends with cars you will be fine, and if you can borrow your moms it will help ease the wait.

Tofuball 04-11-04 10:55 PM

I say wait. You will NEVER regret it.

lilpeenoiracer 04-12-04 01:56 PM

i was thinkin of gettin it now and rebuilding it later but theni dought shell give me the 2gs later, so i guess imma just wait, but damn novembers far!!!!!!!

Delaying Pleasure is awesome, but painful, once it IS november though, not only will you be richer but you will be proud of yourself for your willpower to wait.

i agree completely with you. wait then you will have the money to make your 7 even more bad ass.

Madrx7racer 04-12-04 03:42 PM

what car could you have gotten now though?

OverDriven 04-12-04 03:47 PM

Depends on if the $1800 one is a real steal. The amount it costs means nothing. I've seen nice TII's for $2000 and only decent N/A's for $4000. It just depends...so is the $1800 one a great deal? If so, buy it and take the $2k later to fix it up even more.

You'll probably find a very poor car for $1800. I'd wait until you have the extra $2000, but then you can only buy a car worth $2800 because you'll need the extra $1000 to fix it up. These cars can be huge money pits, and I don't recommend them as your first (people will argue with that statement, but in general it's true).

1800 would pay for your insurance... now you just need to find a car for free....

You kidding? I've seen some very nice stock N/A's for around $1800.

i bought my 86 gxl for 2000 and it was in very good condition, one dent and a couple of scratches on the outside and a perfect inside

gerbraldy 04-13-04 12:28 PM

Buy the car now, as long as interior/body is in good condition. It's not hard to do a turbo swap, you can get jdm TII engine(fan-to-flywheel, intercooler-to-oilpan) /tranny 40k miles, 500$ everywhere. Get a conv. ecu if you can't find a TII one. Wiring harness, TII starter, etc. It's not as hard as you think to drop a turbo up in there

deltr0n` 04-13-04 12:37 PM

i bought my 88 GXL for $1200, and the paint and body was SUPERB! but it did have a few engine problems... but either way you should get a n/a, and if you can find a good deal just get it now, and then if your mom gives you the 2k in nov. thats enough to fix anything thats wrong and upgrade.

CoreyMH 04-13-04 01:06 PM

hey where can you get the jdm turbo motors that cheap??
