sup people, i've got a few stupid questions to ask, and i dont mind being burned for it as long as i can get answers, heres the situation, i want to buy an fc but in order to come up with the money i have to sell my daily driver for it, from that i am expecting a maximum of 4000 and a minimum of about 3600. but because i have work and school everyday it makes things kind of complicated. so i plan on selling my truck and getting a fc in the same weekend. my first question is, do the s4 and s5 chasis have the same motor mounts; second, do the turbo and naturaly aspirated have the same motor mounts, third, does the j-spec engine have any differences from the us-spec when you swap it, like extra little parts or anything. alright, thats it, oh and if anyone is interested in a chevy v6 truck let me know, thanks everyone

Well, a FC makes a bad daily driver if you plan on turning it into a project (which a turbo swap will be, especially if you use an unknown condition jspec). Yes, they all use the same mount pounts/etc, the tranny's are different, so are the driveshaft/starters/rear-ends, bolt pattern is the same for the tranny's though so you can mix the motor with the tranny (not suggested), also, doing a full turbo swap on an N/A is generally a waste of time unless there's few TII's in your area, or you're bored and want something to do.

I go with the being board and want something to do catagory ;-) On farther pondering there is neer zero TII's here oh well.

anyways there is little to none differ from J-spec to A-spec so I wont bother listing. And yes I do say FC's are bad daily drivers unless you have a shop at your disposal money on demand or have one with a brand new motor good condition tranny rearend and all suspention components new :-/

Hmmmmmmmm a turbo swap really isnt all that bad or as hard as it used to be...You can go online and look up many people who have done a quality turbo swap for a decent price. But yeah as a daily driver they suck! Go with a ol Ranger...

Just take care of the FC... my FC has been my daily driver for over a year and a half now, and has been much more reliable than my old MkII Jetta.

It is still an old car so expect some things to go wrong, but like I said, take care of it and it will take care of you.
