I always have wondered why trucks and suv's take off from the start, other words they get the jump. If your not pay attention to the light, like I was when a 4.0L Cherokee peels out and takes off like 2 sec before me, and by the time I hit 2nd I'm a car length behind gaining very fast then the ******* cuts right infront of me to aviod traffic, thats when I said told myself "why did you do that, did that cherokee intimidate you?, yes, shame on you, you know better than that" My friend was telling me to show him whos boss but I decline because it just wasn't worth speeding to race a cherokee. woh, were was I, oh yeah so is it the low gearing or is it the fact that our cars have little torque, and trucks and suvs have more, or is it both?

Yeah I know, but keep in mind I'm only 18, I can act crazy and people just ahh he's "young dum and full of ***!"

 

sounds like you're not launching very well, or you have an auto... (I assume you should be able to stall an auto turbo up and launch it reasonably anyway, but have never tried)

do a bit of practice with higher revs and faster clutch outs until you get slight wheelspin off the start.
