gear oil question

hey guys, just wondering if it is possible to fill the tranny with gear oil from the shifter housing inside the car, i figured if it was possible it would make where gear oil wouldn't need to be pumped into the case

thanks
Dennis

The shifter housing is a sealed unit. Best way is to do this I have found is to get a squeeze bottle of your gear oil, cut it in half, hang it from the hood upside down and run rubber tubing from the spout to the transmission fill hole. Then start pouring in gear oil, let it drain and check for leaks. Repeat.
