Gauge placements...
Hey my stock radio off my gxl doesnt work, So i took it off and was trying to fabricate a stainless steel holder for my gauges. I think it would look cool with 2 gauges in place of the car radio. What do you guys think? or should i just get a working radio and put the gauges on the a pillars like every other guy?
Your proposed location is fine for gauges that you don't need to see while driving.
Stuff like voltmeter and fuel level would be fine.
Gauges whose sudden movement might tip you to an sudden catastrophic failure- water temp, oil pressure, etc.- would be better placed in a line of sight location.

I guess your right, I have 3 gauges, some brand air/fuel ratio, autometer water temp and oil pressure I'll make one anyways And place it in the meantime, I dont really know how to install it in the A pillar and make it look good, I have the plastic piece that fits 2 gauges but it doesnt fit too good. Anyways anyone interested in buying a in dash gauge holder? ill probably make a few of them
I have allot of stainless steel I can work with, itll look really nice.

I already have one, but if I didn't, i'd want one... that makes sense I think. Definitely make them, people will buy them. That spot where the radio is just begs for gauges, plus it's much easier than mounting on the pillar. The pillar plastic can crack and break which can lead to problems mounting gauges there.
