Gauge cluster question.

What is the red LED in the Gauge cluster next to the Temp gauge? Is the shift light I see people talking about? This light never comes on while driving, but it does come on when the key is turned to accessory (and I think only when the engine is warm... could it be an overheating indicator?).

I'm going to assume you have a canadian car, so its not a shift light. What model of car do you have?

I've heard its for the electric fan. I've only seen them on 87's, both of my 88 TIIs had a fan and no light.

Yes it is Canadian, and it's an 87 TII. I actually went out to the car and actually opened my eyes It says fan... but I've never seen it come on (apart from when all the idoit lights come on). Anyone know when it's supposed to come on?

It's a "fan fail" light.

I guess it's good that I haven't seen it come on.

Thank god I don't have that stupid Shift light... that would drive me crazy!
