LOL, check to make sure you have a gas tank. This may also be because you have a milk jug as a gas tank

If I drive my car like a grandma, I get about 250 miles on a tank with my 88 GXL

Hmm I get about 150 miles/tank (N/a). 40 miles per tank is insane! Hope you are getting your moneys worth out of every mile :P

I get 200 miles on a tank (s4 n/a vert) and mine runs pig rich with the fan clutch locked up- you better check that out- 40 miles per tank? A Honduh can go that far on one gallon..

I don't really know how far a tank will go, with gas prices the way they are I can only afford 1 gallon at a time, but I can usually go about 18 miles on that gallon before I run out in my NA vert
