Does anyones gas light actually work? Mine doesnt and i have never owned or known anyone who had one that worked? Is it easy to fix why dont they work? Well just generally wondering maybe its not a common thing i just have bad luck.

mine doesnt. neither does my clock. mazda electronics are generaly crap. the little solders are always breaking or going out or whatever. its a pretty common thing for rx7s to have little electrical bugs like that.

 

Mine does work too, only too well It lights up all the time, because I fill up only when I go out of Athens. In the city, I like to keep the tank up to 1/4 (and the car is much lighter of course )

 

mine worked the one time it was low. but I never let it get below 1/4 tank. it's bad to do.

 

well mine comes on when u turn the key on but thats it once u start the car it doesn't work
anyone knows how to fix it?

 

It comes on at first so that you know its not broken (burnt lamp or something). In order to come on when you drive, the floater on the fuel pump must send the appropriate signal. So,
1) you never reached the "low fuel" level,
2) the wiring is damaged,
3) the floater itself is damaged,
4) aliens have killed your car, and ressurected it to do their bidding

 

mine came on once when i got really low, like under empty...

 

GOD DAMMIT, why did the aliens pick my car...;(

 

Have you got any "X" signs on it ?

 

Mine works when I get about a needles width above the two empty marks on the gauge.

 

mine does a weird on off thing. It will sorta fade in for a bit then go away. When it does that I know I've got maybe 30 miles of gas left before it stays on completely.

 

well mine ran outta gas and the damn light never came on so i guess i will start by looking at the wires
it might not be conected because the person that owned the car before me took the gas tank of to get it cleaned out, i hope he just didn't plug the wire in

 

Mine USED to work, but the gauge is shot. It's probably different than the FC's, but why do these senders fail?

 

like everybody sez it is either broke or you havent got low enough on fuel to turn it on, you can drain your tank slowly till it comes on then measure how much fuel you have left then you know how far you can go when it comes on .

 

My sendin unit is broken also. But I did take it apart to see if i could fix it.. The problem i saw was that all the wire in the middle of the coil were broken.. My gas needle works from F to exactly 1/2 as soon as it touches 1/2 it drops to E. I don't know if my low fuel light still works I refill at 1/2 tank
