Gaskets - With or without RTV?

I am going to be putting cleaned and flowed injectors in my '87 N/A soon. The gaskets between the TB and UIM and the UIM to LIM. Just replace the gasket or coat it lightly with RTV? I've heard arguments both ways....opinions?

It could, but new gasket are usually metal, for the lim to block, and others are I forget. But you can do either or.

^ Really? I was unaware of a metal LIM to block gasket... Stock/OEM anyway. I know the exhaust to block is metal (obviously).

The other two are paper. If the gasket looks good then you don't need RTV.

...thanks for the input. I'll probably just use the gasket w/o rtv. I got these gaskets from Mazdatrix, and they were pretty cheap.

I've gone either way. IF using RTV just use a SKIN FILM of it. If you don't.......you'll have buggers hanging down the intake manifold runners. Not good is they come loose while driving.

If not using RTV skin film, I've used a smear of vaseline on either side of the gasket as a release agent so when you remove the intake at a later date, the gasket won't half stick to one side of the maifold or the other.

Skin film means there won't be any squezze out of the rtv over into the runners. Film means very little RTV.
