gasket and location on uim/diffusion chamber

There is a spacer type gasket on the upper tb between the "butterfly" assembly and the diffusion chamber.I hope I'm using the correct names for the parts. This big black rubber gasket should go back on facing what way? There is a little tab on the top cornor of the gasket looks kinda of like a arrow.

The trapezoidal notch should be at the backmost top position on an 86 N/A, when looking at the Throttle body/UIM in the installed position.
In other words, the tab must face up, and be closer to the side where the thermowax assembly sits/accelerator cable attaches. It should be farthest from the TPS side of the throttle body.

The notch we are referring to is a rasied trapezoid, about 1mm tall, 4/3mm wide, and the length of the entire spacer.

It must be installed in this position.

Any questions, I will try to clarify.

Not surprised it ran like ****. Most of your vacuum lines would be receiving no signal, as they would be blocked off by the spacer. It HAS to face the opposite way to the way you have it.
