Are the drivers side and passengers side lock tumbler interchangeable?
Are the drivers side and passengers side lock tumbler interchangeable?
My deriver's side lock tumbler is busted.
I have a passenger's side door off of my parts car with a good tumbler.
Are they interchangeable?
I know the door handles aren’t, but what about the tumblers them selves?
Thanks,
Jason

You might have to reverse the little mount that connects the tumbler to the lock actuator, but they will switch out.
You might want to take the lock out of the passenger door on YOUR car as the replacement, so the key will still be the same. Having a different key on the pass. side will be less of an inconvenience.

I have done it, when taking them apart be aware not to loose the small steelball that sits in a groove.
If you do loose it, it will be a real bitch to lock/unlock the door. in that case just use the one from the passenger door.

HEY! i guess we learn something new everyday. My driverside handle is broken (but key works) and my drivers side tumbler is not original (because i had to replace broke door handle.
