GASKET for exhaust MANIFOLD $$$

Why is the gasket for our exhaust manifold so pricy? Its 64.00$ at mazdatrix. Is there anywhere to get them cheaper? I don’t want to sound cheep but a new one for my friends Honda was like 20$. I know they make a lot more exhaust gaskets for Hondas so supply and demand come in on that one, but still. Cant you get a gasket kit from an auto parts store and make your own? I have never done this. Is it hard to do or worth the time.

Our cars run quite a fair but hotter. What kind of vehicle is it? N/A? Turbo? And which gasket, the engine -> manifold or manifold -> exhaust pipe?

I'm not sure about this one but I believe kragen or another auto parts store may carry the manifold to engine gasket or the manifold to turbo gasket for like $20. Not sure which one it was but I read it here in a thread.

I just used RB gaskets, they were pretty cheap.

I wouldn't. I've heard of lots of problems.
Read this thread: http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...et+not+sealing

Mazdaformance.com has way better prices than mazdatrix. Call them w/ the part number for the gasket, it will be cheaper than mazdatrix.

autozone...carquest...any auto parts store should be able to get it. It may take a couple of days though.

Well...autozone has one for an NA for 15.67. Doesn't show anything for a turbo. I'd call and ask them though.
