Gas in oil? Floods like no other!

hi i havent driven my rx7 that much this winter... well not at all...but when ever i go to start it (lets say once a month) its a pain in the ***!!... i have to play with it for hours. Today i went to start the car and it turned over nice and fast, and started to run(rough, it is quite cold out) (about 20-30degrees F) but then it died like 3 seconds after it ran so i play with it for 2 hours all i can get out of it was a realy fast turn over. like it was running on half a leg, but when i stoped turning it over it died. the plugs are always COVERED in gas, i take them out every other crank and they are just covered... the next thing i can think of is to change the oil to restore compression...im sure ALOT of gas is in the oil!!! any ideas on whats wrong...is it a bitch because i only start it once a month? I want to daily drive it... i was wondering if it is started and warmed up everyday if this would resolve the problem.

P.S.---you guys may say "leaky injectors" but how do i know that this is the problem ---im here waiting for a reply

welcome to be big wide wonderful world (www) of flooded RX7"s. If an rx does not start within 10 seconds (better yet 5 seconds) of cranking, she is most likely to flood. Also, if she does start and gets shut down for whatever reason before warming up she's going to most likely flood.
so, if she is not starting then you have to address why...you know most of the reason's I'm sure...timing, plugs, air ratio, plug wires, dirty air or fuel filter....etc....and of course leaky injectors WILL cause this to happen....even if you don't want to hear that, it is true...
your best bet is to make sure all of your ignition components and settings are operating properly....if they are not now and you fix that then the flooding has a chance to subside...if not, you need to have all that up to snuff anyway....then if it isn't solved you need to have your injectors cleaned and flow tested.
It aint gonna fix itself....for sure

...also....when you take the plugs out they need to be really really clean and dry then before putting them back in you need to put about an ounce or so of automatic transmission fluid in each of the bottom spark plug holes....what happens is all that gas washes away the oil on the apex seals and she has no compression and will re-flood...the fluid is going to help insure that seal for compression...she's gonna smoke like a state prisoner on a saturday night release from jail...but you gotta do it...go to www.rx7.com
or do a search on this site for instructions on the unflood procedure for your model of rx.
what i did was install a kill switch on the ECU/inj fuse that is loated on the main fuse box under the hood....then at the VERY FIRST hint if not starting I flip that switch hidden under the dash and this allows the engine to turn over without getting fuel....when I do this early enough the plugs usually have not gotten that wet so i let her turn over with the switch off say 10 seconds or so then turn it back on....two or three times at this usually does it...mine does not flood that often since i am aware that it can happen and have taken the steps to prevent it,,,,then sometimes she has a mind of her own....
oh yeh....when you take the plugs out you gotta turn the engine over for perhaps a half minute {off and on} to blow out some of the fuel....be sure that your plug wires are away from under the hood so that a spark wont ignite the fumes.....get that unflood procedure when you find it and memorize it....you will need it sooner or later...and welcome again to the www of flooded Rx'7s...
