gas in oil

I checked my oil this morning and found a smell of gas in my oil. and the ou looked watered down. This is the first time I have ever noticed it. My engine has about 8,000 miles since a rebuild with 3mm seals. I have a fuel pressure bleed valve so I should not have injector leakage and starting is never a problem. Maybe too long between oil changes? I have been adding 2 stroke oil to the gas at about 100:1 without disconnecting my oil injection. A lot a variables to deal with and maybe this is not a problem. I am going to change the oil tonight and monitor the results. Any ideas?

When's the last time you change the oil ?

Oil on rebuilds should be changed quite often during break-in period

I try to change the oil every 2,000 miles which I believed to be sufficient. This thread may be a bit premature as I will change oil and monitor the situation.

little normal

i suspect thats pretty normal. Just change the oil often. My rebuild, streetport I can smell hints of gas in my oil as well. Its far from being watery, I just get a little smell. But I don't loose oil, don't blow smock.. engine is rock solid.

One thing to make sure is you have the breather tube thats coming off the block not blocked off. If you do, that will fubar everything up.

My car is like that as well.....I was told a while ago that was normal. Mines been like that for probably 25,000 miles, and it drives perfectly, pulls hard, and doesn't smoke.....

after 2000 miles, getting gas smell is considered normal. If you are using the omp, keep an eye on the level. It should drop atleast 1/2 quart in 1000 miles. If it does not, you might have excessive fuel mixing with oil. If the oil level does not drop, it is a good sign that the oil control ring lips are worn out.
