I have got 250 miles on half a tank of gas doing highway driving. average mileage on full tank for city is a lil over 300!! so i guess i am getting great gas mileage.

I keep my windows down or crack the sunroof at highway speeds, a/c isn't really an issue. I'm sure it maybe in the summer though since I live in houston. This is for a 94 FD if that matters in the poll results, I was just browsing sections randomly.

I got recently on a trip from San Jose to Houston.

24.15 Mpg 370Miles SJ to LA
23.56 397Miles LA to Casa Grande ***I ran out of GAS and took 16.85 Gal
21.42 66Miles Casa Grande to Tucson
24.27 301Miles Tucson to El Paso
26.49 261Miles El Paso to Ft Stockton
23.88 327Miles Ft Stockton to San Antonio

Avg Mileage was 24.19Mpg
1722 Miles using 71.19Gal

The mileage was up to San Antonio. I have not refueled in Houston. The 26+ fuel up was using 86 Octane gas, but maybe due to lots of downhill driving. All of the driving was at 75 to 80 Mph. Ft S. to SA was at 65Mph

My 1990 GTU has been pretty consistent over the past 100,000 miles: 14.5 mpg straight city cycle, 22-23 mpg on the highway.

You've got to be kidding me... I get like 12mpg. Then again it's practically all city driving but still! On the last tick before empty on the gauge I am around 190miles on the trip. Oh well it needs a tune up and the clutch is starting to slip.

I'm inclined to agree with this statement.

I keep a fuel log, and have used several trips in the past year from here to Ottawa (6 hours one way, which always uses almost exactly one tank of gas) to see what my mileage is like...

I saw slightly worse mileage going 110km/h (about 68 mph) than I did going 140km/h (about 90 mph.) I was more than a little shocked by that - I figured it would be the other way around...

somewhere around 14 in town. and 18.5 on the interstate.
in the morning i usually let my car warm up for about 10 minutes before driving anywhere, so that's why my in town mileage sucks. and i can't say i drive all that slow either. when doing 80 or so on the highway, i barely touch the gas and i'm in boost.

On a recent trip down to Victorville, I logged 26MPG at 65-70MPH and 22MPG at 90-100MPH. FC-Chan's new '91 FC (With a TII trans) got 21-22MPG.

15-17 city, I can get 25 or so on the highway at 75mph. HKS exhaust probably helps with that.

My mileage dropped a bit. I am now averaging 10-12 per gallon. I have got to get that exhaust fixed.

I was quite suprised with this number but Baby is still getting about 17 in mixed highway city driving. I consider this pretty good since she has 216,000 on the original motor... and everything else.
