Average about 17/18 I get about 280 out of 15 gal of gas half city driving half highway. I get about 415 out of 15 gal on just highway keeping the speed constant at about 60--over that speed and milage starts to drop rapidly!!

so far mine has been under 14. i'll know for sure when i fill it up this weekend. Course, I did just get the car, and i "had to" make sure that it could drift properly and would get up to speed in an appropriate time.

18 mpg city usually shifting at 3500 to 4000rpm with a few jaunts to 5 or 6k on my '86 NA with no mods. I did pull over 28 mpg highway running 75mph at 85 degrees outside and no A/C one time.

I just calculated that I get 14 mpg with 94 octane city driving. I havent noticed it getting any worse with the temp coming down like someone else had mentioned. Although it pulls way more with the cold air. I did take her on a road trip this summer and the gas mileage from what I remember was substantially better, even with speeds of 120 mph plus in alot of places. thank God I didnt get pulled over hehe

'88 GXL. Ever since it started getting colder here, I've been getting 12-13mpg city driving (and that's with a light foot), and I averaged 22mpg pure highway driving on Saturday (with a heavy foot). I can't figure out why my city average is so low. The cold weather seems to have a huge effect.

Could someone in the know please post what (if any) effect cleaning the fuel injectors/replacing fuel filter/replacing oxygen sensor will have on mpg city driving?

they will go up. try the air filter also and make shure your tires are properly inflated. (all coming from a wal-mart "assosiate" had to say it a billion times last month.)

I think I get between 16-17 in city, and near 25 on the highway. If not 25, easily 23. The mileage isn't good, but this is a 17 year old car we are talking about.

funny thing about, i always seemed to get better gas mileage by keeping the rpm's around 6-7000 rpm cruising... whats up with that?

I am driving a 91. I only get about 13-14 miles to the gallon. How can I improve this?

I also notice I seem to consume more fuel if I keep the RPM's low. I think the rotary engine consumes fuel at a contant rate, regardless of RPM. The faster you get to your destination, the less fuel you use!!

Or not...

30 mpg, highway.
Tips on better gas mileage:
No A/C, or just take it off
No Air Pump
run really lean to blow your poor rotary and do a 1.6l civic swap.
