gas mileage
This question is for a 1988 none turbo RX7.
Tell me if this sounds right....
I recently filled my car up with gas...I did a little bit of street drive and highway driving...I was only able to drive 200 miles before I had refill my tank...is that about right for an RX7?

depends on your driving style, how much gas you put in and condition of the car.
It sounds low, but without knowing how many miles per gallon you are getting and your driving style and when you last tuned up the car and checked your tire air pressure it is impossible to say for sure.

if you wanna figure out your mileage, you can drive til the fuel gauge hits the 'E' and then buy a small amount of gas...say 3 gallons or however many you want, and reset the trip odometer. then drive til it hits the E again and divide the distance by how many gallons you got and that's your mileage....of course, driving habits and other factors will vary it, but if you just drive 'normal' to keep fuel consumption as consistant as possible then you should be able to get a number close enough to be accurate

Just cruising (70mph) down the interstate, I get 27+ mpg. Around town (heavy footed freeway entrances, usually keep rev's above 3k, etc) I get on the low side of 20. When I'm really playing hard I get 16 or so. I've got an '87 base 5spd all stock. Note, the 27+ mpg was with both windows and the sunroof open. Could probably get closer to 29 or 30 with the windows and sunroof closed, and doing 60 should add another 1-2 mpg. I tend to run rich at idle, no matter what I do, so I suspect worn apex seals too, though I've not checked compression. Unfortuantely, I expect to lose mileage when I rebuild, since I'll be going extended street port.
Just opening up the Intake and Exhaust with an Ignition Box did wonders for my gas mileage. The box more than paid for Itself with the amount of money I saved on fuel.

On good does when I don't do WOT and to redline.. I get about 200-250 miles....
On bad days.. maybe 150miles.
That is in the city.
On the highway, if I dry normal, and not WOT and redline - I get about 300-400 miles...
on bad days..... when WOTing and such, less than that... maybe like 300 or so.

well, if you want to talk mph, I get about 17 in the city, and 25 or so (I'm not really sure) on the interstate.
Your car is pretty much making good mileage. I thought the samething, because I wasn't used to a car running out of gas early in like 3 days, or so... compared to my other car.
