Confused about Haltechs
I am wanting to buy a Haltech for my car, but am kinda lost as to what EXACTLY it does(I'm not retarded and I do know a little bit). Also, if I get a Haltech for my car(87TII), I need a laptop? Will a boost controller and fuel cut defender along with several other mods I have planned be enough to not harm my car, and to beat my competition.(13 second cars are the fastest around here except for an NSX and a 5.0L Mustang that run 12's). I hope what I just typed made sense and if anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction, I would thank them. Right now the car is stock except for a K&N drop in(which is being replaced with a cone). Any suggestions on a good intake to get? I also have a ractive exhaust and Hawk HP plus pads. Thanks.

I hate to say it, but from your post you're probably not ready for one yet...
Basically, a Haltech is a full replacement for the stock ECU. All new sensors, wiring, computer, etc. You program it all in with a laptop.
Installation and tuning is mighty difficult, even for a skilled mechanic.
You might want to consider the Apexi Super-AFC - much cheaper, easier to install and tune, and really works well.

I just read a post pertaining to Haltech's and whatnot and I am now convinced to not get one. I honestly don't think I could handle it. But I might as well make good of this post and ask for info on a good SAFC to get. And should I go with 720's all around?

Injector size will be determined on what turbo you upgrade to and how much boost you run. Unless you a planning on going over 500 rwhp (about) you should be fine with stock 550 cc primaries. If you upgrade to a comman large turbo such as an apex t04e and run a decent amount of boost like 18psi, i'd recommend getting 1200 cc secondaries.
