10 & 12mm sockets, 1/4 and 3/8 drive ratchets, 6'' extensions, offset needle nose pliers for the hose clamps, some rtv if ya don't have new gaskets, small 90 degree pick/ or/ dental pick for the electrical connector clips, new o-rings for the injectors (if desired), new PD, new PD seals (2), clean out or block off EGR valve while you're in there, clean throttle plates while ya got it apart, think it's 3/4, 7/8 somethin like that end wrench for the PD, I know I'm forgetting something, just did this 3 weeks ago though...

You'll need to take off the intercooler (if you have one), and the upperintake/throttle body (leave those in one piece so it's easier. There will be a coolant hose underneath your upper intake, and a ton of vacuum hosing and a brake booster. Don't confuse the brake booster with the coolant hose, they're both close to the bottom but the coolant hose is underneath completely. Search for Pulsation Dampener and you'll get a lot of stuff. Be prepared for it to take a long time, go get some 5/32" vacuum hosing to replace all the brittle hoses you'll have there and it will save you some time later in life. Don't be afraid to stick a screwdriver under the U's in the upper intake manifold to pry the piece up. It will be practically cemented on there after the roughly 17 years its been on. Some bolts may be hard to get off, be patient use a lot of force (higher torque ratchets maybe) and try using Rust Eater spray. It helped me get all of mine off.
if you need more help PM or email me.

After a few times you can have the UIM off in like 20 minutes or so.

Theres also a good fix for the EGR valve if its brittle, and you need it for emissions.

Did you take off the throttle body AND upper intake manifold in one piece? If you did, you'll be able to change out your pulsation dampener from there. It is on the end of your fuel rail. It is a hollow screw with a plastic piece on the end. Email me if you need pictures or more advice.

BTW it took me about 6 hours start to finish. But that is due to some.. unusual circumstances of trying to get a single bolt off for an hour straight, and dis/re-assembling twice because I forgot to connect the brake booster and I couldn't get it on, the thing is a huge pain in the #($ to me. It broke the second time, had to replace it.. ugh.

If you plan on getting at the goodies beneath, YES.
