G- Tech my Car

Dude,There is something holding back on my car. because with the FULL Racing Beat Exhaust , intake, pulley, cold air box, and Ram Air. my best 1/4mile was 16.9 on the g- tech and my car was getting 18.2 before. exhaust was a big help, but some fellow rx-7 people told me my car run stock 16.5 in the 1/4 mile. Could my 6 port acturator thats are stuck shut make that big of difference in my quarter mile? If so what kind of times should I expect to see when this is fix.

Since you didnt post your car, I would guess NA from your "stock 16.5" comment. If so, then indeed something is clogged/not working properly/not installed right, or the G-Tech is giving you VERY bad numbers....

...my AC22 on the other hand is almost spot on, both in times (well, its a little bit pessimistic ) and in RWHP

...and the AC22 was a hell of lot less expensive than the G-Tech/Pro

Your profile says you own a '90 'vert.

If so, those numbers aren't too far off the mark. If you're not launching it really hard, I'd say they're pretty good. You're car weighs at least 300lbs more than the coupes.

Get used to enjoying sunshine and tailights.

Right here:

http://www.race-technology.com/WebPa...eterIntro.html

and you can see some articles and tests here:

The units shipped now are black, and are very accurate out of the box. With a little bit of setting up, its almost spot on

G-techs are great for testing, but they aren't an accurate ET estimator. At least a tenth, in some cases I've seen 3-4 tenths off.. And MPH is always at least 4mph generous. Just go drag your car..

The same: 250EUR. Just remember though, you get your GTech for, what, 120-130 bucks, while here in Greece it costs more than 320EUR

Yeah, like it is easy for me to drag race...remember, dragsters are not that popular in Greece (but they are gaining ground by the minute ), dyno sessions are VERY expensive, so I'll have to rely on the AC22 (which is very accurate, dont diss it before you try it )

Well it's only $50 cheaper. I think I'll just get a gtech then.

Well this seems like bad news since the g-tech is usually very generous to people. Most of the time you won't run as fast a 1/4 mile at the track as the g-tech tell you. Well verts are in the 17s stock and with no aux. ports you could very easily be a second off. Get those fixed or try wiring them open and see what kind of difference it makes.

i gtech'd my TII 0-60 6.2 with just slipping the clutch then flooring it. with a hard launch with traction easily low 5's. my old GTU did 6.6 9-60 launching very hard. if you want 1/4 mile time just goto a drag strip where you don't have worry about getting a ticket or hitting anything

How do you know it's accurate if you don't race at a drag strip to confirm the numbers??

Not dissing the AC22, never used it. I have used the G-tech, and know that while the numbers are reproduceable, and it's a great way to test your car to verify that something you've done is helping/hurting your times, it's NOT an accurate way to estimate your 1/4 miles.

You are -almost- correct. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the AC22 until I have data to prove my claim. However, I have seen numerous revies (well, 2 reviews ) where comparisons have been made between time slips and the results from the AC22. The AC22 with some seting up is actually spot on both in time results and in WHP according to these reviews...

And I'm not particularly interested in VERY accurate numbers. The fact that my TII is in the area of 190ish RWHP is enough for me However I have yet to produce a below-7" time for 0-100kph Must be my driving, the roads of Athens (dont get me started ) or my rear tyres (which are ContiSportContacts , but rather old)
