Funky rear-end noises, transmission oil, and cold-weather shifting
Suddenly I've started hearing strange noises in my rear end. Like, rubbery squeaks, or the sound of something rolling around (but there's nothing back there), and a sound akin to the sound an office chair makes when you let it down (a hydraulic sound).
Also, if transmission fluid has a sulfur smell, are you not supposed to use that kind?
And, if the low gears have a lot more trouble than usual when downshifting when the transmission is cold, does that mean I need a different kind of transmission fluid?
But, god I hate changing the transmission fluid... it's such a pain.
