Funky engine idle

Ill get to the point, my engine was doing the idle jumping. I have read the posts about vacuum, and some three letter abbrev. that I can not remember. Now my car is idleing at 2000-2300rpms (WTF), I have decided to leave this problem to the professionals. Here is the $1,000,000 question Where is a rotory specialist near Kennett, MO. I am 3 hours south of St. Louis and 2 hours from Memphis. Who is a respectable rotar head in my area. Thanks for the help.

Something (probably a vac leak, maybe a stuck linkage) is holding the idle speed way too high & the ECU is trying to hold it back down with fuel cuts.

You get a short cycle zoom - zoom - zoom.

A few years ago the Mazda advertising staff picked that behavior up & spun it into their sales pitch. (my personal assumption)

Mine starts and holds an idle of about 2000 for around 8 seconds, then proceeds to drop and bounce between 1000 and 1300 until it's warmed up. Still dont know why it does it.
