If you spell it correctly, the light will go out. F U E L
j/k. The sending unit on the pump is bad. Its in the tank. Under the carpet is a square panel with 4 screws and a wire harness going through a grommet in the center of the panel. Thats the pump access panel. Get a Hanyes or Chilton manual and replace the pump.

I'd take out the fuel pump assembly and see if the sending unit got stuck at the bottem
