Fuel Tuning.....

I recently bought and installed an HKS AFR and started tuning it via an EGT guage. Now, keep in mind I've been tuning with safety in mind, so I've been keeping the EGT's relatively low. My question is this... Right now I have it set to run -25% at idle all the way up to 3500rpms. Where it tapers off... -22%, -20%, -18%... and so on.. running richer and richer as I go to avoid leaning out at high RPMS. While cruising (below 3500 rpms) I stay at about 450-550*C. It gradually gets hotter as the revs go up, peaking at 700-750*C at WOT at the top of each gear. I know normal operating temp on rotories is like 800-900*C or 1650*F. I know that when I didnt have the AFR, I ran so rich it smelled like a lawnmower, and backfired every time I let off the throttle at high RPMS. But was it really running THAT rich? I can set it to -50% at idle and it still smells like unburned gas from my exhaust pipe. I know that its installed and working properly too, cause it made a huge difference in mid range power. Any ideas?

We have no clue unless you tell us what you're running and what kinda mods you've got...

Turbo?
How much boost?
Fuel pump?
Fuel injectors?&nbsp Sounds like you're running 4x720's?

I'm a bit confused with your .sig - are you running all of that right now, or all that turbo stuff not installed yet?

If you're still NA, something is drastically wrong, as your -2x% settings would normally prevent the car from running!

Yes, I'm still N/A.. The turbo is going on in a few weeks/months... Ok, so somthing is wrong... Any ideas? Cause I know its working to a degree.. I gained quite a bit of midrange power and raised the EGT's through the whole powerband by leaning it out... So what could be causing it? Bad injectors? 02 Sensor? Fuel pump? Any ideas would be helpful..

It sure looks like a stuck fuel pressure regulator!
