Fuel system question

I have an 88 conv. im getting spark but no fuel in the combustion chamber at all, pulled the plug and all i smell is the oil from the rebuild but no fuel on the plug. The fuel pump turns on when the car is to the on position not just when the connector is jumpered. the fuel pressure is at about 40psi when connected to the factory wiring and about 75psi when directly to the battery. The fsm says it is supposed to not run any more when it reaches the correct pressure, but it is like the energizer bunny-it keeps going and going and going...I am just wondering if the injectors are bad or could it be with the fuel pump wiring in the car. Any input would be really appreciated

They usually keep running. Its a recirculating system. I cant imagine why the injectors arent firing though.

***t is supposed to not run any more when it reaches the correct pressure**

Wrong info. It's what RAT said above.

Do you have the fuel lines crossed at the engine?

No, the Haynes actually says that crap, but its wrong. You might have the fuel lines crossed, like hailers said. I am assuming your ECU is online and functioning.
