Fuel setup...?
Fuel setup...?
Iīve been working on my car for a while now and everything is almost done, or decided.
But I havenīt decided how to make my feul setup yet. Iīve bought a walbro 255 fuelpump, and a Malpassi FPR, but I donīt think Iīll be enought. My goal is 450 rwhp, so I will need feul to support that output!
I will go with 4 x 1600cc injectors and a Autronic SM2 and CDI.
What solution would you guys recommend? Which feulpump(s), FPR, fuelrail, fuellines, etc...
A total solution all the way from the tank to the injectors would be very appreciated!
Thanks,
- Oscar

1) 4 X 1600's is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY overkill dude.... Thats enough injector at 80% duty cycle to support over 1000 HP !!!!!
Check out the injector selection machine at Marren

2) I don't think you will be able to control the idle on the car with 1600's in the primary position.. most 1600's are not able to run below 2 Milliseconds injection time... At idle on my Ported TII motor my 550's are running at 2.9 milliseconds.... (a 1600 would have to be down around .5 miliseconds or less)
3) The walbro 255 will supply enough fuel for you car
4) If you run 720 Primaries and 1600 secondaries... you will have plenty

Autronic SM2 works fine with very large injectors, however if I donīt need them, I will go for 720 primaries and 1600 secondaries. How much will they support? My goal is 450 rwhp, how much hp is the walbro 255 good for? I want a little bit of a safe margin... I didnīt thought it was capable of that much power!
Which FPR do you recommend?

Not the ECU... 1600's simply are not built to work at very low injection times (at least the ones we all use!!)
well, from a couple of different formulas, 450 HP would require about 4200 CC/ Minute of fuel on the conservative side.. assuming a max of 80% duty cycle ((2X 720 = 1440) + (2X1600 = 3200)) = 4640...
Therefore, you couild use 720's.. but i might go with 8XX's just to be safe.
As for the Walbro.... I've seen several tests that show the standard 255 putting out 225 LPH at 50PSI fuel pressure.. SO... thats 3.75 Liters per minute... thats 3750 CC/minute... So I may have bee a bit hasty in saying that the Walbro will work for your HP goals...
SOOOO... I'd probablt set up with 8XX's and 1600's. As for the fuel pump.. you could run two walbro 255's and feed each fuel rail with its own pump....
Ok! Now we have decided how big injectors I need, and lets say I go for the dual
walbro setup. Where do I find fuelrails? And to support each fuel rail with itīs own pump, I need some kind of T fitting and a FPR with dual inlets. Since I live in Sweden I think I have to buy it from the US, so I would need some advice where to find it, those red/blue AN fittings wouldnīt hurt to line it all together with, where do I find them?
Thanks alot for your help! Much appreciated!

Keith makes really nice fuel rails, and can probably supply you the injectors and FPR as well.
Shoot him an email with your questions, as I am not sure he ships out of country.
Tell him Luke sent ya!!!!

*note*
I made a minor change from this thread. I substituted the 120 degree swivel joint with a 90 degree one that was to go In front of the secondary Fuel Rail.

my setup shoudl be in my sig. I got my pump from www.teamfc3s.org its what bdc recomends. I followed reteds site/parallel fuel diagram and write up on his site. there is a thread about it i believe its in the archive but you might wanna do a search. any questions just ask.
