fuel question
my fuel pump isn't turning on, but when i jumper the test port by the AFM the fuel pump comes on with the ignition switch in the on and start position. my question is will the injectors still open and should it run with the jumper if it is pumping fuel to the injectors?
thanks
thanks
On our cars, the fuel pump only works when (i) starting, and (ii) when the airflow meter registers airflow (the flapper moves from rest position). You shouldn't hear the fuel pump unless the car is running/starting. So I'm wondering if that is sending you the wrong path, diagnosis wise.
As you said, the fuel pump check connector will turn the fuel pump on when jumpered with ignition on. It essentially closes the circuit opening relay and turns on the fuel pump.
Basically, I don't think you have a problem with your fuel pump or fuel supply. To answer your question, the injectors work independently, so they could still not be opening up, or it could be another problem.
One way of finding out is to remove the intake to get access to the primary injectors, unplug them and put an LED to the plug and see if it pulses while cranking. If that works, then it could be the injectors.
Has anything been done to the car service-wise?

there is a yellow test port by the afm that completes the connection to ground like the afm does when it opens enough
anyhow i think i know whats wrong as i have thoroughly tested the system i think there is a problem with the wire going from the starter to the circuit opening relay but i really need to jack the car up to check it.
unfortunately the car is surrounded by about 4 inches of ice plus the previous owner lowered it so there is no way im getting a jack under there until the ice is gone
i was just hoping that if i jump that test connector i might be able to run it enough to bring it to my friends garage, oh well ill figure it out.
