fuel pump wiring

so i bought the rx7.com fuel pump which from what ive heard is a rebadged denso supra TT fuel pump, maybe or maybe not, doesnt matter. the problem is, the fuel pump on my car was using a plastic relay rather than the two separate + and - posts on the fuel pump. i assumed it was safe to chop the lines and solder on ring terminals, but it never came with any nuts to hold them down. i found an 8mm nut for the + side, but my 10mm nut is the wrong thread pitch. my question is if it is safe to leave the ring terminals exposed to the fuel in the fuel tank, if not, what do i do to make it unexposed? i shrink wrapped all the wiring, but i dont know what to do about the nuts and the posts from the fuel pump. and maybe if you guys knew the thread pitch of the ground post from the denso pumps that would be nice.

It'll be fine. I've worked on many of fuel pumps with exposed terminals, and they've never blown up. Look at the rheostat, it's not sealed. I guess gasoline isn't conductive.

Don't worry about the exposed terminals, but anything plastic you stick in there will have to be gas-safe. It'll turn to goo if it's not.

To figure out threads I'll sometimes use a tap for comparison. You could also count the threads per inch.
