fuel pump stoped gettingt power
so as the title states. the fuel pump has stopped getting power on my 88 t2. i have a fuel cut switch wired in using the rotary resurrection method. Sharingan and I have already ruled that out as both sides of the switch are getting power, Im just not getting power to the plug on the rear drivers side shock tower. I also checked the 15 amp engine fuse in the cabin and it was fine. what would cause this?
Thanks

A problem perhaps w/the Circuit Opening Relay which controls power to the people, I mean pump. Or a poor connection between the Front harness and the rear harness. A faulty Fuel Pump Relay and Resistor could also create a problem as well. And the AFM.
Try jumpering the fuel check connector and see if this makes a difference.
If the above doesn't work then leave the jumper intact and check the Blue/Red wire coming from the Circuit Opening Relay for voltage w/key to on as it should be present.
If voltage is present on the L/R wire then the problem is likely at the relay and resistor.
If the Blue wires coming from the Resistor Relay have voltage w/key to on and connector jumpered, then the front and rear harness are not connected good enough.

ok i have already tried the jumper on the yellow plug by the passenger shock tower. i did not pick up any voltage at the pump and i didnt pick any voltage up at the plug on the rear drivers side shock tower. where is the resistor and relay located at?

You want to check the wire I suggested at the Circuit Opening Relay first because if that wire has power than it runs to the fuel pump resistor and relay. The Opening Relay is located to the "right" of the steering wheel column and is Yellow and Black and has a handful of wires.

Once you get this foolishness straightened out read this and figure out what u need to buy.

Pull the plug off that circuit opening relay.
Get a piece of electrical wire bare at each end.
Use that wire to jumper b/t the Blue/Red wire and the Black/White wire. Key to ON and the pump should run. Takes but minutes to do.
IF you only see six volts from the black/white wire in the middle of that plug you either have a bad battery........................or the ignition switch is not feeding full batt power to the row of fuses in the interior fuse box that has the ENGINE fuse on that row of fuses.
You might just see if any of the other items on that row of fuses that has the engine fuse are also having prolems working. IF they do not all work right then suspect the ignition switch not giving full power to the interior fuse box via the pure black wire at the ignition switch pigtail.
Black wire gets fed from the engine bay fuse box .
Turn signals are on that same row of fuses as the engine fuse. Turn key ON. Turn signals left or right and if they act normal........then there probably is no problem with power getting to the engine fuse which feeds the circuit opening relay which powers the fuel pump. IF the turn signals act sluggish and the battery is charged good..........suspect the pure black wire at the ignitoin switch not feeding full batt power to the interior fuse box and thereby not to the circuit opening relays black/white wire.
