fuel pump rewire
I know what you're all saying... search search search. I have. But here's the thing. I swapped a 87 T2 into my 88 SE. ECU, harness, and engine. But it was having problems with starting and crap like that. So after 2 months of on-off trouble shooting I gave up and got a Microtech. At this time I was absolutly sick of looking at the stock wiring harness so I tore the entire thing out and wired in the microtech by hand. I did a gorgeous job on it too.
But my last problem is the fuel pump. I was checking it out the other night when I was trying to wire in the microtech, but I couldn't figure out which wires were which. I started checking for voltage. None of the pins are getting voltage with the key off, but once its on the red wire (on the fuel pump side of the connector) is recieving anywhere from 2-10 volts inconsistantly. The blue wire is recieving a steady 11 volts. I know one of the wires is supposed to have 12v constantly and another wire should get 12v only when the key is on. So I've decided to rewire my fuel pump. The problem is is that I have an 88 NA body which means no resistor relay. This makes deciphering DaleClarks post harder. That and I have no emissions harness.
So my question to you is how do I rewire my fuel pump with neither of those things? If you could just alter the image in the second post in this thread (much thanks to NZ for it) that would be great.
Thanks.
Oh, and HAILERS: I fixed my starter issue. It's bolted up nice and tightly with all grounds fastened. So it's not that.

But where does the new wire hook up to? I could hook it up straight to the battery for constant 12v and then hook up the ON one to black/yellow pin by the leading coils. But neither of those choices sound smart or safe.

which is the way i said...
it's not a tough diagram to follow, if you are having trouble doing this then you may want to find someone who knows a bit about automotive electrical systems to do the wiring install for the microtech and pump.
even a single connection incorrectly installed will lead to tons of headaches in trying to find out why the car won't tune properly.
