Fuel Pump rewire

Trying to rewire fuel pump. Ran 12AWG from pos and neg back to the pump, with the positive side switched. Which wires coming off the fuel pump do I splice my power on?

yeah, but I didn't want to read all that crap, I just wanted to know where the power went. I am not doing a full rewire, just a switched battery connection

Since you don't have time to read a well written write-up that took someone a lot of work, I'll save you the trouble. Ooops I don't have time......

Uh, right on. That link for the rewire was one hell of a lot of work and it given to you to help you do the project. It is an insult to say you do not want to read that crap.

Not doing the full rewire? So you are going to be running full voltage to your pump at all times? Why not use the relay like the write up says so that you can retain the factory feature of the voltage dropping at low loads.

Play nice man. You are getting free help here.

heh sorry. i dont have money for the relay, i need power to my fuel pump for my na-->t2 and I just want it switched, I don't really need to lower voltage at idle. hell i will flip the switch if it is running to rich, and I premix i don't really have to worry about carbon buildup.

I realize that someone went to alot of trouble for that write up, and I apologize for calling it crap. I just want to get my car running.

You still need a relay, or you will trash your ignition switch.

These "shortcuts" you plan on taking are an invitation to disaster

The switch is rated for 20amps.
Only thing I am shortcutting is the relay right?

couldn't you just run the new power wire fromm the battery through a relay the flip it on when u need more power. or even do it with an rpm activated switch so at say 4k rpm it kicks on a straight 12v from the battery to the pump?

Wellllllll.....its the large BLUE wire at the fuel pump connector that gets the voltage. Ground to chassis

you better hook it up accordingly, otherwise if the engine bay catches fire and you have it wired like that it's going to make one hell of a show!

A little more info would've avoided the confusion (particularly the Haltech bit), as "rewiring the fuel pump" on FC's generally refers to the procedure I linked to. You won't need the relay/resistor pack with the Haltech, so don't worry about that how-to, although it did have the wire colours you wanted.

the haltech should turn it on and off. that should be your switched ign source. then you just need to buy a relay for the back. the write up with the idle drop is only for the stock ECU anyways. you need to run power from the battery to the bought relay. then a ign source from the haltech to the relay. then the relay to the pump. should cost you like $5 for relay. don't do it any other way... if you can't afford that how did you plan to buy gas LOL...
