fuel pump question

ive got an 86 n/a

ive already been told that its not wise to change the injectors. if i change the fuel pump to a t2 pump or an aftermarket pump would i gain hp. or would i still be giving it to much gas.

well i higher flowing aftermarket pump is just going to pump more volume, if you want to upgrade your n/a fuel system and your stock ported, get an S-AFC II lean it out (use a A/F guage so you dont go too lean!) N/A's benefit from being leaned out a little bit

Adding larger injectors won't give hp. Larger injectors just support the hp that is already there so if you were to boost your 7 then the larger injectors would just support the extra hp made by the turbo.

Well, not saying it wouldn't be any good just wouldn't effect anything right now. Larger pump with larger injectors leads you into having to manage that extra fuel somehow so it kind of snowballs into more stuff to get to keep you air/fuel correct.

I would personally say no. I am sure someone else would disagree but it is always personal opinion. Just wouldn't seem worth it to spend the extra money.

NO!

Just like every other engine, if you want more power you need to increase airflow and then make sure the right amount of fuel is added. Just adding fuel will lower power, not raise it.

The NA fuel system will handle all but the largest ports. Unless you're planning a serious engine, leave the fuel system alone. The only thing worth doing is a fuel controller to actually reduce fuelling, as the rich factory mixtures are not good for power.
