fuel pump/need help bad!!
Today I installed a fuel pump cut switch to turn my car off so it wouldn't flood anymore. I cut the middle wire on the relay to splice in the toggle switch, but once I had it installed my car wouldn't start at all!! So I took off the toggle switch and reconnected the fuel pump wire and my car still won't start!!! For some reason the radiator fan comes on too, like my engine is hot or something. Pleaaaaaasssse somebody help me here, I don't know what has happened!!

Maybe you flooded it doing the switch install?
If not, try this.. In your hatch, on the driver's side strut tower, is the connector for the fuel pump. Turn your car ON, and make sure you have voltage back there. If not, you messed the wiring up somewhere. If so...hmm...then write back.
You may want to consider completely rewiring your fuel pump, straight from the battery, or some switched power source. That will guarantee better voltage to the pump so you don't run lean accidentally. Also, depending on your wiring, it may force you to use a fuel cut switch.
I assume you have an aftermarket e-fan? Which one?

flooded?
I don't think it's flooded because when ever it was flooded before it at least tried to start. Now the rpm guage doesn't move at all, like it is getting no fuel at all. I don't understand why the fuel pump would not work now when I hooked the fuel pump wire back up like it was before. Is there a fuse that I might have blown somewhere? Thanks for the help.

Yes, there is a fuse that supplies power to the fuel pump and the main relay, which would explain no tach function, because there is no power to the coils. This would be in the fuse panel in the engine compartment, 3rd row from bottom (bottom being row 1), second fuse from the left. It is a 15A fuse, and is most likely your problem. Good luck!

fuses
Hi Irv,
My fuse box in my engine compartment is only one row. It contains 5 or so fuses like the EGI comp and EGI inj. Could you be talking about the fuse box under the dash? Or is there another fuse box somewhere? I own an 88 turbo two, just incase there was a different setup in other year rx-7's.
Thanks for the help!!

thank you
Hi Irv,
I figured you were talking about the fuse panel under the dash, so I checked it out. Sure enough the fuse you mentioned was blown. I'm gonna finish putting a toggle switch in for the fuel pump (this time with the battery unplugged, hehe), and then put a new fuse in. Your knowledge of Rx-7's is greatly appreciated, I can tell that by all the other distressed rex owners you've helped. Thank you for the help!!
