fuel pump humming?

Well I got this weird humming all of the sudden in the rear. Its like a high pitch, and sounds like its coming from the fuel pump. Does it mean the pump is going bad or what? Its only been in for like 3 months and the car was down for most of that time. It didn't do it last night, but then today it started. Any ideas? I can hear it under the car pretty good.

Indeed they do. Especially external high flow pumps.

that fact that the noise wasn't there before would lead me to think there is a problem. what pump is it?

did you take out the carpet or leave the spare tire well open? I didn't hear my pump until I removed the pad under the carpet.

i had a hi flow pump and FPR on my GSR and it used to make that high pitched sound, especially if i turned the radio up really loud, it would somehow amplify thru the speakers..it was really odd and funny, i had one of those cd players with the tape deck adapter, so i would put in the tape and not play the cd, crank the speakers and you could hear it start wailing the faster the engine revved

Well it never made that noise before is what bothers me. Ya it does remind me of how like speakers will sometimes with an amp hooked up. Like it gets louder with the rpms. And nothing has been done at all, so I can't figure it out.

You sure? I mean it has like literately days of use on it. As soon as I installed it, it cracked a fuel line and my car was down until a week ago. I've only driven with it installed say, 6 or 7 days and not even long drives. Could it just need to be rewired, because I never did that.

I doubt it.. fuel pumps that whine are on the way out... thats how you can tell when they are going...
Take it back and have it replaced.....

Ask the company that made the pump if noise is normal..

PS: mount that FCD...

Nice T2.....
