fuel pressure regulator plumbing

I am thinking of getting a fuel pressure regulator for my s4 t2. How important is it to use steel braded lines with flared fittings?

The stock lines at the tank are still going to be a regular hose iwth clamp. The stock steel line is only good for a hose and a clamp too. How did you guys upgrade your fuel lines without going through the complete fuel system, or changing out the hardlines?

What would you guys think about just adding an aftermarket fuel pulsation dampener? I have one in my garage, I just need to check the brand, and if they have rebuild kits for them.

I want to get my car tuned soon. Its streetported s4 with s5 to4 hybrid, full exhaust, fmic, and megasquirt ecu. 850 primaries and 1600 secondaries(I know that is totally overkill) I got the car with 550cc primaries and 1600cc 2ndaries. The staging was too drastic, so I got a deal for $100 bucks for 2 new 850cc injectors.

You can use regular rubber fuel hose if you want. It's just less fancy. Braided stainless and AN fittings are great because they are pretty, and easy to connect/disconnect.

If you need a new pulsation damper, then the aftermarket unit will work fine.

For the record, I've never had an issue staging 550CC and 1600CC on any ECU but the Haltech. The 'Squirt should handle it fine.

Cool, the pulsation dampener I have had no name on it. I just checked the part # and it seems like I got a vortech one. http://www.jegs.com/p/Vortech/757886/10002/-1

Hold up, Im reading the description, it talks as if it replaces the whole fuel pressure regulator? Does this have a built in pulsation dampener?

Ok, so I called vortech and this part, http://www.jegs.com/p/Vortech/757886/10002/-1 , is to be used in conjunction with the stock fuel pressure regulator. So I guess it doesnt aid in fuel dampening.

I really dont want to buy a stock fuel dampener and have it go bad on me in a few years. Suggestions?
