fuel pressure regulator

I am having problems with throttle response. If i disconnect the vacumn line from the fuel pressure regulator it gives me alot better throttle response. do you think the fuel pressure regulator is going bad or what?
thanks
chris

its worth a shot. As i understand it, the FPR is like a valve, when the engine creates more vacuum the FPR close's so the fuel line feeding the injectors has more pressure. Allowing the injectors to saturate the air with fuel going into your engine. check on EbAy for 1. I recently purchase 1 for my 86. But i have not put it on yet. Also get a book for your car. I have got a 86 RX7 book for my car. Its strait out of Japan. It has everything !
