Fuel Pressure Damper
Hi Everyone,
The lower fuel pressure damper assembly on my 91 rx-7 1.3L non turbo has not been working as it should and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a replacement part. Has anyone come across this and found a reliable rebuild kit or an after market work around for this? Not quite sure where to go from here.
Thanks

The part is non-serviceable, as it's integrated into the rail. Are you sure it's not working properly?
Your options are:
- Replacement S5 rail with damper
- S4 Rail with damper (damper is replaceable on the S4 rail). I'm pretty sure the S4 rail just bolts up, but haven't tried it myself. The advantage is when it needs servicing again, you can replace the damper without replacing the rail
- S4 Rail with banjo bolt mod to delete the damper, and then an aftermarket Fuel Pressure Regulator, as they include the damper internally.
You can also (technically) delete the damper without upgrading the Fuel Pressure Regulator, but theoretically this could cause engine damage, so risking it doesn't really seem worth it.

On S4's, sometimes the dampers will leak leading to possible engine compartment fire. I wasn't aware of any potential problems with the S5 damper. In any event, Atkins appears to have S5 replacement dampers available https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/8...ategory_id=665.
