fuel PD thought

just a thing i noticed while at work... mustangs have PD (i think...) inline with fuel hoses, maybe that can be used in place of the OEM ones that we have on the fuel rail? better to have it in another location besides above the exhaust manifold right??

Just get a new replacement PD. From what I've heard, they are good for 10 yrs or 100K miles, whichever comes first. They're not totally expensive either for how long they last.

yeah all fuel injected cars have PDs.

One of my projects this summer is to build an adapter for the S4 rail, to use a GM style PD. The GM heavy duty aftermarket PDs can be found for about $35.

Of course S5 owners are screwed, as the S5 PD is integrated with the fuel rail, unlike the S4 PD which just screws in to the fuel rail.

it's really the thought that re-locating the PD for safety measures, not about how much it costs and how long it lasts

is there a way to use the s4 rail on the s5? i know people upgrade the other way around...but it really doesnt seem like it makes any difference. with an s4 at least it could be fixed much more easily.

www.injector.com sells aftermarket PDs for 75 bux. They are very nice construction. Not listed on the site, but if you look under "Fuel Management" you will see a bunch of manifolds with the PDs bolted onto the rails. Notice the T fitting is "an" fitting

See them here: http://www.injector.com/fuelmanagement.php

I have also seen these in person. They are of excelent quality. The owner suggested use of a PD when usig injectors larger than 52lbs (550cc).

The PD works 200x better when bolted right to the rail. The further away, the less likely it will do anything at all. The pulses I am concerned about are from the injectors comming online.

I am not sure how easy its gonna be, and haven't really concerned myself with the S5 (since there were just a few more S5 FCs totally built, than they built of just the 88 FCs).

S4 86-88 = 138919
S5 89-91 = 32978 (not including the 2200 or so 'verts built for Japan/Aus/NZ in 92).

There are more S4's without sunroofs than S5's total.
