Fuel and other questions for a new 87
So I have spent the last week reading nothing but the manual and RX7club posts but I still have a few questions.
I just picked up a 1987 RX7 with 140,000miles, from the original owner. The car is a stick, with a new clutch. The car has bad interior (smoker, dog owner) but I dont care it will all be ripped out.
The car has some rust on the drivers fender but the exhaust is fine, and the the compression is good. The engine cranks over fine, but there is no fuel. The owner said it needs a new fuel pump or the wiring to the fuel pump. For $150 I decided to buy the car, clean title and all and worry about problems later, I know its ignorant.
Well I figured I would try and mod the car, so should i just get a stock replacement or a Walbro 255? 195? I dont plan on spending the money on a 400rwhp car, I would be better off holding out for a TurboII and then moding that.
also, the car has sat for about 2, 3 years, what items should I pay attention to that will need to be replaced?
Thanks for welcoming a newbie!
