Fuel and Maintenance for FC cost high?

I'm thinking of buying a 91 FC in my country and every 1 said that FC consumes too much fuel and the maintenance is very high. Is this true? I love the FC so much. I'm not earning alot and if the fuel and maintenance is high it would kill me. What you guys think? Your FC drink fuel like water(dont count on high reving) and is the maintenance for a rotary that high?

A well maintaned FC will get around 15-18mpg city, and around 18-24mpg highway, depending on how you drive. Maintenance is expensive, simply because it's, at this point, a 15 year old car that still has a lot of factory stuff. If you replace everything that wears out (hoses, bushings, suspension, etc), it can be quite inexpensive to maintain, but it's a 15 year old sports car.

I will say, if funds are tight, you'd be better off with a Toyota, Honda, or Subaru.

Maintenance is low, oil and plugs and some new tires once in a while. Getting an old car up to stock specs might be expensive and going beyond that will be expensive. Go to these sites and see what you need to do.
