Fuel Main and Return S4

Does the main feed go into the top primary rail then feed to the secondary rail then return or is this car hooked up?

Right now its going into the pulsation damper on the bottom rail then feeding to the top rail and going through the pressure regulator last before the return line and for some reason it will only run when it is hooked up this way. It seems incorrect to me, seems it would go through the pressure regulator BEFORE hitting the rails.

wow thats weird, I thought it would be first. There must be some sort of flow restrictor as well because you cant hook them up the other way, the car just wont start.

It seems like some backyard mechanic really raped this car good before I got it so now Im questioning everything.
