Fuel Light/Buzzer
Fuel Light/Buzzer
This thing is pissing me off. I bought the car yesterday night and today the gas light started intermitendly turning on and off. With a full tank of 91 I highly doubt that a low fuel level is my issue... so what are the possible solutions here?
I know, it gave me a headache lastnight. The girlfriend doesn't like it much, either.
Like I said it turns on and off sporadically. I'd say it goes off, on average, a minute apart. The noise lasts for anywhere between 10 seconds to a minute.

There is not a low fuel buzzer.
There are assorted beepers through out the car. But only one Buzzer. The buzzer comes on for low oil, low coolant, or over rev (nearing or above redline).
The most common buzzer is for low oil, or the coolant system improperly bled (and has bubbles in it).
If the buzzer is going off intermittently, chances are you have low oil.

low oil or the radiator has air in the hoses makin the sensors read wrong if you dont mind taking you gauge cluster out and takin out that damn buzzer like i have i really dont miss it just that u have to watch exhaust and coolant temps . and entering the red but its not that hard to do
For example, the coolant temp sensor reads coolant temp... if you popped a hose and just spewed coolant all over the street, your sensor would not show anything until the whole block heated to the point you need to replace the engine. It wouldn't show overheating, because there is no coolant to tell the sensor it is overheating.
Same thing with the oil.
The buzzer is attached to LEVEL sensors... not temp or pressure.
Only an absolute idiot would remove or disable the sensor. You should just put masking tape across all the gauges, because if you are disabling something that helps save your car, you must not care about any gauge that helps you save your car.
FIX THE CAR, DON'T BUST IT FURTHER.
Sounds like you just bought a wonderful normal operating turbo 7. Welcome to the club.
I'm gonna agree with the low oil buzzer.
I have owned 5 FC's and have never heard the low fuel light buzzer. Maybe it's a canadian thing.
Check that oil dude!

The low fuel light is probally broken too though. I got mine to dimly light up once. I have not found a way to clean it or come up with a way to replace/fix it either without a new fuel pump. It would probally break on the new pump anyway. I have not seen any post about how to fix it either. There was one post where they were arguing about the part number but nothing was really resolved.
I stuck a needle in the top and bottom of the sensor and could not feel anything and figure out how it worked.
