Fuel level not reading right (searched... ugh)

So at a full tank, It reads about 3/4 full. Then it goes down to 1/4 in about 50 miles. Then it stays there for another 200 miles before E. I have never taken the fuel pump out, and it has been like this ever sence I got the car. Car originally came with some stupid black and blue gauges (see pic) and I replaced them with oem because a bunch of the gauges didn't work and it was laying around. But the fuel level never changed... how do I fix this?

Supposedly the problem is related to the fuel level sender. Do a search on this item for more info.

Grounding out the White/Green wire to the fuel gauge on a very temporary basis will cause the needle to rise to the top and this would indicate that the gauge is in working order.
