Fuel leak FPR?
I finally started up my reman today!
It started on the first try
Then I smelled fuel
I can see fuel coming out of the FPR, when I pulled the vac line on it fuel was dripping from the nipple on the FPR.
I assume this means that it's no good, right.
If so then my question is do I have to take off the dynamic chamber to change it or can I do it with it on?
I don't remember how the FPR is connected to the Secondary rail. Does it thread in or is it part of the rail?
Where should I get one from, dealer or what? I hope it's not as much as my pulsation damper was.
Thanks in advance,
Ed

Can you get the FRP off without taking the dynamic chamber off?
I dont think it's the washers because when I pulled the vac hose off the nipple it sprayed pressurized fuel.
Isn't their only air supposed to be in the vac part? Doesn't that mean the FRP is broke inside if fuel is bypassing into the vac hose.
Anyone have any advice.

Thats what I think.
Again can I get it off without taking the dynamic chamber off?
Should I buy new or get a used one?
If this rarely happens to FRP's I could go used right?

So I guess we agree that if it leaks from the vac nipple it's no good right, the diaphram is broken.
Autozone has them for $69, one year warranty.
Should I go that route?
Are aftermarket ones comparable?

Fingers I pulled the UIM today.
It only took about 30 min. to pull.
I left the 90 degree coolant hose on the bottom though. I can get to the fuel rail with it still connected.

Yeah I had Autozone order me one (stock replacement) also.
"You should be able to swap it right out on a s4 without replacing the rail. I had to do it on mine"
You're right I just lifted the UIM then I unthreaded the FPR right out without removing the rail.
Did yours leak out of the nipple also?

When I put the new FPR on I'm going to pressurize the fuel system before I put the UIM back on but I don't understand how to jumper the pump.
Can someone explain in detail how to jumper the pump and where the jumper is and what it looks like?
Thanks for the help
