Fuel Injectors

In upgrading my turbo I am going to need bigger injectors. I am planning on running 920cc or so secondaries. I am trying to find the best (also the cheapest) place to find injectors.

Any suggestions?

Well, what kind of turbo upgrade are you looking at, what kindof of mods do you have, etc, etc.
Are you going with a fuel computer...
That'll help.
What about your pump??
With a standard TII fuel system, a standard TII pump with a rewire can well support 720 secondaries at least. To about 260 (?) rwhp.I don't know the limit though- I'm sure someone else does...

I am getting a stage III upgrade from BNR supercars, he guesses that will put me upwards of 350HP. I am rewiring the Fuel Pump and ordering a walbro to go in there. I already have ordered an apexi s-afc. I am looking for 920cc injectors at this point, just trying to find them, and cheaply.

Thanks for the help so far guys. Any more info?

Do you means 720cc/min? AFAIK, there are no 920cc/min injectors that just drop in. The 720’s are from the 85 RX-7 and are a direct replacement. 350hp would be starting to push it with these though. Consider replacing all four injectors.

Well I guess I may have to go with 4 new injectors at that point, if there isn't anything inbetween. Thanks for the help. Is there any larger size that will fit right in?

As far as aftermarket ecu, for now I plan on retarding the timing a bit. That should help my engine untill I can afford a Haltech, which is in the near future. I am also calling around to try to find an area that can reprogram my stock ecu, anyone have any input on that?

Once again thanks for all the replies so far!

I’m not sure why you’d want to do that. Retarding the timing (via the CAS) won’t help an engine that’s running lean, but it will result in a drop in performance across the whole rev range. You’ll end up with a doughy, unresponsive engine. If you’re having your turbo upgraded, have the wastegate ported as much as possible (with a bigger flap) and keep the boost right down until you sort out the fuel. Even better would be to do the fuel first! Four S-AFC-controlled 720cc/min injectors and a rewired Walbro will be perfect for 350hp.

I am definitely doing the fuel as well As far as the timing is concerned, thats what Bryan at BNR Supercars recomended that I do.

The wastegate is getting ported and having a bigger flap installed as well so I figure that should take care of that problem.

I guess I am probably going to go with 4 720s then... Any suggestions on where to find the injectors the cheapest?

Also if I do take care of the fuel with the above setup would I still need to retard the timing in your opinions? Or just leave it? Thanks guys!

OK, that may be an intake temp issue. I’m guessing you’re using the stock intercooler? Now would be a very good time to look at a decent front-mounted one. This will drop the intake temps considerably and allow you to run more advanced timing without the risk of detonation.

You are right, it may be an intake temp issue. My future plans for the car do include a front mount along with a haltech, money situation where it is now, I have to wait a while

I guess looking at the situation I am still forced to reduce the timing with the fuel upgrades, which is fine if thats what I have to do.

Thanks for taking the time to read an respond
